Drinking coffee is bad for your health. The high concentrations of caffeine cause the body's central nervous and metabolic processes to speed up - all too rapidly. I suspect we owe this to the intense roasting process coffee beans endure while making their way to the grinding mill.
The processing practices used to concoct hot coffee are extremely unnatural, similar in style to the manufacture of cocaine from the coca plant. Therefore, coffee mimics the health degrading effects of similar stimulant drugs. Coffee is highly addictive and can cause hyperactivity, restlessness, twitching, sweating, paranoia, dehydration, and migraine headaches.
For this reason, I am a huge proponent of raw chocolate. Raw chocolate is barely processed, contains lo-levels of caffeine, and has an intense amount of health supportive qualities. So what can we do with all those wonderfully aromatic, yet highly toxic coffee beans?

Scientists have long been aware that Vitamin D strengthens our bones and muscles while boosting the immune system. Supposedly, 10 minutes of daily exposure to sunlight will supply us with sufficient vitamin D for good health.
Recently, studies have found that sunlight can help protect us from many cancers. Vitamin D supplements may help too, but they will never fully substitute the amazing benefits gained from soaking up some rays.
Low vitamin D is associated with multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroiditis, Crohn’s disease and depression.
Since spring is here, thousands of people will gain relief from 'seasonal affective disorder' or SAD. This shady condition is a suppression of serotonin experienced by many who are deprived of sunlight during the dreary winter months. This is exactly why I spent December in Bermuda (pictured above).
Sunlight also stimulates the pineal gland - a tiny pea-sized organ found in the base of the brain. Sometimes known as ‘the third eye’, the pineal gland produces certain types of chemicals called 'tryptamines'. One type of tryptamine, melatonin, keeps our body clock aware of night and day and the changing seasons. In short, sunlight will help you socialize and sleep better.
