Sailboats, Ceasar, and Muscadet

A triple threat.

Yes, that was the weekend: Strenuous, hot, humid, yet memorable. So, I'm passing along a new theory I came up with along the way. A classically made Ceasar salad and a mineral-rich Muscadet can make the most intense summer day sail away like a cool breeze.

I'll spare the small-talk and grant you license to reconstruct this as your own (the Muscadet is up to you, just ask your local wine shop for a recommendation):

Mikey's Sailing Ceasar Salad

Ingredients (per person):

10 leaves very firm Romaine (ripped into bite size pieces)
splash of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
splash of fresh squeezed Lemon juice
splash of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of fresh chopped Garlic
2 teaspoons of chopped Roasted Garlic
2 teaspoons of chopped Anchovies
sprinkle of salt
sprinkle of pepper
1 egg yolk
homemade Croutons (optional)

Preparation:

In a large mixing bowl, combine and toss all ingredients. Serve immediately. For the croutons, I like to cut up leftover bread, drizzle a little olive oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, and toast until crisp.

Enjoy!
